Don has been an artist “at heart” all his life.  After retiring from a 32 year career with Boeing in 2006 he has been set free to produce art full time!

Don began his art journey working in watercolor, acrylics and mixed media.  In 2009 he discovered the "world of digital" and has been enjoying seeing his art take a new turn.  Don works in multiple creative programs and is able to use his artistic eye to achieve unique and fascinating pieces.

Sometimes Don will begin by using an existing piece of art he has created; other times he starts with a photo he has taken.  He particularly loves working with photos of some of the amazing rocks he has collected.  His ability to “see” patterns and shapes and his remarkable “eye” for color lends itself well to his distinctive style.  His artwork would be best described as abstract and semi-representational.  He uses a wide range of special effects and is always on the lookout for new and unusual methods of creating.  The theme in his artwork?  Experiment!

For Don, it’s always about the color.  His self study of color has been extensive and he has designed and developed his own unique tools that assist in the choosing and combining of colors for his artwork.

Don and his wife, Dori, moved to Camano Island in 2006.  Surrounded by the splendor of God’s creation he is finding the beauty of the island to be a wonderful source of inspiration for creating art.
